DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING TO PREPARE FOR THE TREATMENT?

Please ensure your feet are clean and any verrucas, warts or cuts are covered with a small plaster for hygiene reasons.

The session will involve reflexology on the feet and massage of the lower legs. Please wear loose trousers so that I can access this area.

Please turn your phone off or put it onto silent so that the session is not interrupted.

WHAT MEDIUM IS USED ON THE FEET/HANDS?

I use Songbird reflexology waxes including vegan waxes and have alternative oils available as well.
If you have any allergies please make this known before the session so that an appropriate medium can be selected.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A TREATMENT?

A detailed confidential consultation will be taken regarding your medical history and lifestyle so that I can adapt the treatment according to your needs and goals. This will ensure that you get the most benefit from the treatment. A brief consultation will take place for following sessions to discuss any developments or changes. I will feedback after the session and give some simple lifestyle advice tailored to you.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE A TREATMENT?

The frequency of treatments is entirely up to you and will depend on your current health, goals and needs.
The reason you have decided to come for reflexology will be discussed at your first session and I can then tailor a treatment plan for you based on your objectives and health goals. Some people find that one session a month helps to maintain balance, others require more. Reflexology is also wonderful as a one off session for supporting the body in deep relaxation and for overall wellbeing.

HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER THE TREATMENT?

Reflexology stimulates the body's healing mechanisms and so it is quite normal for a response to be felt. Whilst every individual may react differently to a treatment, some common reactions can include feeling tired, deeply relaxed or rejuvenated.

On occasion, reflexology can induce a healing reaction which is the process of the body ridding itself of toxins. You may feel overly emotional or feel sick but these feelings should only last for around 24 hours. These feelings can be eased by drinking 2 litres of water the day prior to treatment, the day of the treatment and the day after.

All reactions are a sign that the your body is responding to the treatment and should last no longer than 24 hours. If you have any concerns, please contact me.
